CardsDirect Inc Reports Record Sales for Christmas Cards, Expects Trend to Continue Throughout Holidays
(PRWEB) September 28, 2005
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) Sept. 27, 2005 Â? The Christmas card industry appears to be experiencing a boom this year, reports CardsDirect Inc, one of the most successful distributors of personalized and customized holiday cards.
Sales are up in both business Christmas cards and personalized Christmas cards, as well as greeting cards in general, said CardsDirect Inc President Ward Mahowald. Related card-making companies contacted by CardsDirect are also reporting increased volume, indicating the entire industry is going to experience an exceptional year.
In part, this is a result of people buying their cards early, said Mahowald, but the trend shows no signs of slowing down. It’s also unlikely an increase of this magnitude (an increase of 115 percent) is entirely the result of people buying corporate holiday cards earlier than normal, he added, although some of that may be happening. CardsDirect has seen its own sales more than double for the months of August and September compared to the same time last year. In 2004, it also experienced a significant increase in sales.
He attributes much of the company’s increase in sales to the exceptional value of personalized Christmas cards compared to retail boxed cards, which allows a customer to easily place an order with their name imprinted in the cards for about the same cost as boxed cards. Sales have also increased dramatically among business owners who like to purchase business Christmas cards in bulk to mail to customers and associates.
In addition to smaller businesses who have already ordered cards from CardsDirect Inc, seven out of 10 companies on the Fortune 100 list — including Microsoft, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Exxon Mobil Corp., General Motors Inc. and General Electric Co. — have also ordered cards in bulk from CardsDirect in the past.
The distinctive and expressive card designs carried by CardsDirect are designed to deliver a quality image Â? many featuring rich embossing, die cuts, generous foils deckle edges and lined envelopes. The company can personalize the cards by professionally printing the customer’s name or message inside, printing a business logo, printing signatures, and printing a return address on the envelope flap.
