We purchased this book several years ago and it has been the perfect thing to hold the interest of teenagers who have long ago lost interest in children’s Advent calendars. The illustrations are child-like, not childish, rather like those of Tomie dePaolo, and the flow of the language is quite lovely. It helps our family to maintain our Advent and Christmas traditions even as our children mature. Also a great present for a family with pre-teen children.

We received this story book and advent calendar set
over 6 years ago, and have treasured it ever since.
There are 24 books in the set, and each book
tells a piece of the story of the birth of Christ,
from the time the angel Gabriel visits Mary, to the
birth of Christ. Each of these books in turn can be
hung as an ornament on the tree after you read them.
This has become a treasured Christmas tradition in our family.
Each of our children, anxiously anticipate the story and
they take turns hanging the ornaments. This is such a
wonderful tradition that really brings meaningful conversation and invites a lovely Christmas spirit into the home.
It also makes a lovely and meaningful gift, one which will be
enjoyed for years to come. It’s worth special ordering.
