If you’re looking for a family heirloom quality advent calendar, this is not it. We were rather disappointed when we pulled it out of the box. For the price, we expected hand-made quality construction. Though the little resin statues are nice, the “wood” is covered by printed paper. The hinges on the star door weren’t aligned properly so the doors aren’t straight. As a whole the construction is very cheap (it’s made in China I guess). I can’t believe they were asking $210 for this thing. We bought it when the price was reduced to $149.99 and I still think it is too much. Needless to say, its going back and the search for the perfect wooden advent calendar continues.

This advent calendar has a nice music box feature-each door opens and the music plays. However, for the price, it is not very well made. The wood on the back is warped (very thin)and all of the exterior surfaces are covered with paper. This paper is lifting on the edges and sadly I so not think that this will be the “heirloom” that I will be able to pass down for generations…I do not think it will last but a few years. I have seen some candy cardboard advent calendars which appeared more durable. I would not purchase this product for the almost $200 it was advertised for. This would have been expensive for me at $30.
